North of the river — Caversham & the Chiltern edge

Cross Caversham Bridge from central Reading and you're in Caversham (RG4 8BA) within a couple of minutes — the busiest of our northern pickups, mostly commuters heading to Reading station and families booking runs to school. Keep going and you reach Emmer Green (RG4 8RA), a couple of miles further up the hill, then the smaller villages of Kidmore End (RG4 9BU) and Sonning Common (RG4 9SL), both popular for early airport pickups since the roads north are usually clear before 6am. Further out towards the Chilterns, Mapledurham (RG4 7TR) sits right on the Thames — a common pickup for the watermill and riverside walks — and Checkendon (RG8 0SR) is the furthest of this group, a quiet Oxfordshire village where we're used to finding addresses that don't always pin correctly on satnav.

West along the Thames — Tilehurst to Pangbourne

Tilehurst (RG31 5AR) is the first stop heading west out of Reading, a short run along the Oxford Road and one of our most frequent local pickup areas. Purley-on-Thames (RG8 8DR) follows the river a little further out, then Pangbourne (RG8 7AE) — a proper Thames-side village with its own railway station, often a request from people meeting guests off the train rather than driving them all the way into Reading. South of that corridor, Theale (RG7 5AH) sits just off the A4 and gets a steady mix of business park and warehouse-area bookings, while Burghfield Common (RG7 3EN) and Burghfield Village (RG30 3TH) round out this side of our coverage — both close enough to Reading that a pickup here is barely different in price from a central one.

South of Reading — Shinfield to Riseley

Shinfield (RG2 9BP) is the first village heading south on the Basingstoke Road, home to a growing number of business park bookings alongside the usual local runs. Arborfield Cross (RG2 9HN) and Spencers Wood (RG7 1AP) sit just beyond it, both popular for regular commuter accounts. Three Mile Cross (RG7 1AT) is, true to its name, a short hop south of Reading, while Grazeley (RG7 1LS), Swallowfield (RG7 1QX) and Riseley (RG7 1BY) stretch further out towards Hampshire — quieter villages where we're usually booked well ahead for early airport starts rather than picked up on the day.

East towards Wokingham — Woodley, Earley & Twyford

Woodley (RG5 3JP) and Earley (RG6 5HT), along with Lower Earley (RG6 5HQ), make up some of our steadiest local business — dense residential areas close enough to central Reading that journeys here run on the same fixed prices as a town-centre pickup. Along the river, Sonning (RG4 6UP) and Sonning Eye (RG4 6TN) are two of the prettiest pickups on our patch, often tied to the riverside pubs and hotels rather than a home address. Charvil (RG10 9QJ) sits between Sonning and Twyford (RG10 9AJ), the latter with its own mainline station on the Reading-to-London line — a common spot for people booking a taxi onward rather than waiting for a connecting train. Wokingham (RG40 1AS) is the largest town in this direction, effectively a second hub for us alongside Reading itself.

The Thames Valley market towns — Henley, Goring & Streatley

A little further afield, we regularly cover the market towns that sit along the Thames Valley line. Henley-on-Thames (RG9 1AY), best known for its railway station and the Royal Regatta, is one of our most requested longer local runs — often airport transfers for people who'd rather not drive to Heathrow themselves after a long weekend. Shiplake (RG9 3JR) sits between Henley and Reading on the same branch line, useful for anyone whose connecting train doesn't quite line up. Further west, Goring-on-Thames (RG8 9BA) and Streatley (RG8 9HR) face each other across the river on the Berkshire/Oxfordshire border — two of the furthest villages we cover as standard, but still on a fixed price agreed before you travel, not a meter that climbs the further out you go.

• Do you charge extra for villages outside Reading itself?

  No — every pickup within our coverage area is priced the same fixed-price way as a central Reading pickup. Distance is factored into the quote itself, not added as a surcharge afterwards.

• Can you do a regular school run or commute from one of these villages?

  Yes, this is exactly the kind of regular booking a corporate or standing account suits well — set times, a consistent driver where possible, and monthly invoicing if preferred.

• My village isn’t listed here — do you still cover it?

  Almost certainly. This page covers our most requested areas, but we serve anywhere within Reading and the surrounding Berkshire and South Oxfordshire villages. Just send us the postcode when you book.

• Do you know these villages well, or just the main roads?

  Our drivers work this patch daily, not just the A-roads. Pickups down single-track lanes, unmarked farm entrances, or village halls with no clear postcode pin are normal for us, not an inconvenience.
